Welcome to the Trail Pass and Membership page. Trail passes are often also referred to as TMA’s or Trail Maintenance Assessments.

This page will guide you to the most appropriate way to purchase your trail pass. A VAST Trail Pass (TMA) is required to ride the VAST trail system in addition to any state registration. The price of the trail pass is based on the state registered. “Early bird” TMA pricing is available from the time of the release until opening day of the trails (December 16, 2023).

2024 VAST Trail Passes (TMA's) will be available on October 1st and here is what you need to know:

  • All TMA's will now be purchased online, with credit card only, through the VAST website. (www.vtvast.org) You can now purchase your TMA the day you want to ride, from your vehicle, on the way to your parking area. (Not if you are driving, of course.)

  • You should have been mailed a VAST membership number. This is your VAST Social Security number. Do no lose it - take a photo of it. That number is also displayed above your address on the VAST Magazine. This number will pre-populate your information once entered.

  • Upon purchase, you will be emailed a temporary TMA until one can be mailed to you. It is recommended to set up an email if you have not already done so.

  • TMA prices are now a flat rate throughout the state, regardless of the club. This means you do not see any savings by shopping around. Purchase your trail pass from the club where you ride. You can select a second club to purchase a membership from at the time of purchase for an additional $30.00.

  • The TMA total is comprised of THREE parts: (VAST Fee, Club/County Dues, processing fee).

  • If purchasing a “Vermont Registered TMA”, you will need to provide a copy of your CURRENT VT registration by uploading it.

MEMBERSHIP CARDS

All VAST members from 2020 were sent a membership. This card will have your name, address and unique ID on it to help you log into the system. Using this ID will prefill all your information including your name, address, phone, email and snowmobile information. If you had more than one TMA in your name last winter all your snowmobiles will be populated as well. In addition to VAST mailing the membership cards, all clubs have been sent a list of their members from last season, with their member numbers, so you can get that information from your club too. If you would like to look-up your VAST Member ID number (because you lost your card, etc.), there is a video below to show you how to to do that, but you must have an email address registered with VAST already to do that.

If you do not use your membership card to buy your TMA, you will just need to fill out all the information into our system. You can still buy a TMA without your membership number.

If you have had a change of address this past year and we do not know about it, you can email that information to cyndy@vtvast.org

Keep your card each year, because your membership number will be the same each year.

If you have purchased your TMA with another club, but still want to support our club, you can purchase a club membership only. Every club membership is important to us and is put directly into trail maintenance and grooming. Purchasing a club membership makes your part of our team and a large part of our successful American Made Trails. As a reminder, purchasing a membership ONLY does not give you access to the the Statewide Snowmobile Trail System. You must purchase a TMA for that using the button above.
